Current State of Language Access
Around 65% of respondents continue to rely on on-site interpreters to support LEP students and families. Remote services are also gaining traction, with 55% using over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and 49% using video remote interpretation (VRI).
Engaging Parents to Support LEP Students
75% of respondents ranked parent engagement as their top priority for 2025, reflecting the urgent need to help families participate more fully in their children’s education journey.
Interpreter Gap in Education
This past year, more than half of respondents reported working with LEP students or parents without an interpreter, pointing to cost barriers and limited access to interpreters in education.
Shift to Remote Interpreting in 2026
While most schools still depend on on-site interpreters today, more than half expect to shift to remote interpreting services next year. But what’s driving this change, and what does it mean for language access in 2025?
AI Interpreting in Education
