Request a prescheduled interpretation session

Boostlingo partners can request a prescheduled interpretation session for languages listed as “preschedule recommended” on Boostlingo Hub’s Supported Languages List, extended duration sessions (more than 1.5 hours) or sessions with other specific requirements. Visit our Supported Languages page for more information about when to preschedule a session.

You must be a Boostlingo partner to request a prescheduled interpretation session. (Not sure if you are an active partner? Submit an inquiry to Boostlingo.)

Please note that preschedule requests from 8am-8pm EST on weekdays require a 2-business day lead time. Requests for sessions outside of business hours require 1 business week lead time. Requesting a prescheduled interpretation session does not guarantee that an interpreter will be confirmed.

What to Expect for Prescheduled Sessions:

RSI Services are currently only pre-scheduled. When interpreters are confirmed for your prescheduled session, you will receive an email confirmation for when the interpreter selection process is started and completed.

Business hours are defined by no U.S. Federal Holidays business day (Mon – Fri)

You will be billed for the scheduled duration of the appointment if the event ends early. Additional time beyond the scheduled duration will be billed per hour.

Cancellation Policy:

At Boostlingo, we strive to ensure the highest quality interpretation services to you and the rest of our partners. To be consistent with this mission, we have an Event Cancellation Policy of 7 business days that allows us to respect the interpreters’ rights for being compensated for assignments they could have been booked for during the time they would have supported you.

Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpreting Methods

Consecutive Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpreting – What’s the difference?
There are two primary methods to provide interpreting: consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. Both are used to bridge language and cultural barriers and enable smooth communication, but in different settings. It’s important to understand their differences so you can identify which is best for your business needs.

The easiest way to explain the difference between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting is this:

  • Consecutive Interpreting: The interpreter talks after the speaker pauses, giving the interpreter time to translate from the first language to the second.
  • Simultaneous Interpreting: The interpreter speaks at the same time as the original speaker; there are no pauses.

Other important differences between the two interpreting methods are:

  • Consecutive Interpreting is typically used for meetings and sessions with interactive, back and forth dialogue between participants, where effective note-taking is crucial.
  • Simultaneous Interpreting is used for presentations, events and one-way communication, such as webinars or classes.
  • Consecutive Interpreting sessions usually require a single interpreter.
  • Simultaneous Interpreting usually requires at least two interpreters and interpreting equipment.
