How WSBI-ESBG enabled multilingual participation using remote simultaneous interpreting
For the WSBI-ESBG events team, allowing event attendees to participate in their native languages was key to delivering the right content clearly and effectively. Unfortunately, inviting in-person interpreters proved to be a logistical challenge – one that Digital and Communications Advisor Constantin Vicol solved by deploying Boostlingo Events with remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI).
THE CHALLENGE
Having multiple interpreters skilled in different languages and capable of translating technical topics was a must at WSBG-ESBI events. However, this also meant setting up interpretation booths that took up a lot of space. Constantin and his team also faced other challenges in encouraging participation from multilingual attendees.
THE SOLUTION
To help the audience participate in their native languages, Constantin arranged for RSI through Boostlingo Events. There were 40 speakers from institutions around the globe, and sessions were offered in English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German—allowing attendees to follow presentations in real time with audio and slides in their native language.
THE RESULTS
With Boostlingo Events, language barriers that made participating in the event difficult for multilingual attendees were reduced, and event operations flowed smoothly from start to finish. Setting up the platform was also fast and easy, allowing the WSBI-ESBG events team to focus their time and energy on other priorities on-site.
