How Goshen Health Eliminated Data Sprawl

Goshen Health, a community hospital system in northern Indiana, has an average daily census of 60-70 patients. In addition to its full-service offering, it recently added 30 practices across four counties. With a Hispanic population of 30% to 35% in its county, the need for interpretation services has surged.

THE CHALLENGE
Goshen Health’s staff interpreters couldn’t work 24/7, leading to reliance on OPI and VRI services from different vendors, causing a vendor sprawl with complex scheduling and lack of oversight. Scheduling interpreters for the next week took five days to do, and the previous vendors were costly without ongoing support, adding to the challenges faced by Goshen Health.
