Hey! I’m Bode. I run recruiting at Boostlingo, which means if you’re moving through a process with us for an AI-adjacent role, there’s a good chance you and I will cross paths more than once, not just on the first call. I stick around, not just kick things off and hand you to the next person.
I prefer to get to know people, not just resumes.
Here’s the thing: two questions come up in almost every conversation I have about an AI-adjacent role, usually right before the hiring manager call.
“Is this real AI work, or wrapper work?”
“And what is growth like at Boostlingo?”
I love getting them. They tell me you’re thinking seriously about this, not just sending out applications. So instead of answering them a little differently on every call, I wanted to put a real answer in one place, along with what’s actually been happening here.
What to expect when interviewing with us
Our line is “AI when it fits, human when it counts,” and I actually mean it.
We’re not slapping a chatbot on an old workflow and calling it a day. We build and test our own models, and nothing ships until it clears a bar we set and can back up. For our clients, their low-stakes conversations get our AI interpreter today. Clinical, legal, anything high-stakes still gets a professional human interpreter from our network, Boostlingo Hub.
Real talk on how I fit in: I know this story cold, and I’ll happily talk your ear off about it. What I won’t do is fake my way through the deep technical stuff, that’s for the folks who actually build it, and honestly, that conversation is way more fun with them anyway. Think of me as your hype person for the mission, getting you ready to walk in and ask the good questions.
And here’s the part I love talking about: this isn’t AI quietly running itself in the background. It takes real people, in every seat, to shape it, explain it, sell it, and decide when it’s ready, whatever your title says. You get to see that work show up in the actual product and in real customer conversations, not buried in a slide deck.
So what have we shipped recently?
In August, we moved AI Interpreter to general availability and built a new evaluation system called Assure to support it.
Assure scored thousands of calls across dozens of languages before we’d call any of them ready. Eleven cleared the bar for real service use today: Arabic, Cantonese, Dari, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Four more are in beta and will graduate as they meet the same standard, not before.
Brian D’Agostino, our Chief Product Strategy Officer, put it plainly: “A product-level GA would have been the easy path, but we weren’t willing to call a language ready without the evidence to back it up, one language at a time.”
AI Interpreter also grew past where it started. It launched on mobile only. At GA, it runs on web, phone (IVR), and SIP, and partners can embed it directly through our iOS and Android SDKs. It’s live across all five Boostlingo regions: the US, Canada, Australia, the EU, and the UK.
Word from Chief Technology and Product Officer, Barnaby Dorfman
“I recently joined Boostlingo as Chief Product and Technology Officer and I spent my first weeks in the data. I wanted to see how our AI actually performs on real calls, where it holds up, where it falls short, and how the team decides which is which. What I found told me more about this company than any org chart could. The people here would rather have proof than claim a win they can’t defend.
That’s who I want to hire. Our software works in hospitals, courtrooms, and emergency lines, where a bad interpretation means a patient misreads a dosage or a defendant misses a question. So I care less about whether you’ve shipped a model and more about whether you know when not to. Plenty of people can make AI look impressive in a demo. Far fewer can prove, with evidence, when it has earned a real call.
Every person we add also moves the line between AI and human, in small ways, every week. Engineers set it in code, product managers set it in scope, and the people who sell and support it set it in what we promise customers. If you’d rather hold that line than blur it, raise your hand now, even if you don’t see your job posted yet. We want to meet you before we need you.”
Who we’re hiring, and why
We’re not hiring people to sit in a lane and wait for the next handoff. We’re hiring people who take ownership of a problem, whatever seat they’re in, and stay accountable for what happens after their part is done.
The AI-first shift changed what “good at your job” means before it changed the org chart. A salesperson now needs to explain the hybrid model to a buyer who’s nervous about AI, not just recite features. A designer needs to make an AI handoff feel trustworthy, not just usable. An engineer needs to prove that a model earns its place, just as we proved it with Assure. Different job, same instinct: see where AI actually fits, question it if it doesn’t, and back your answer with something real instead of a hunch.
That’s true whether the role sits in sales, marketing, customer success, product, engineering, or design. We’re looking for high agency over hierarchy, ownership over hand-offs, and a bias toward doing the real thing over polishing a deck about it. If that’s how you already work, you’ll recognize the pace here fast.
How we support growth
At Boostlingo, we use Quarterly Growth Alignments (QGAs) to make sure you always know where you stand and where you’re headed. Each quarter, you and your manager sit down to align on clear goals and expectations, reflect on your progress and impact, and discuss what you want to learn next.
It’s a regular, two-way conversation built around your growth, not a once-a-year review, so feedback is timely, priorities stay connected to what matters most to the company, and your career path is discussed throughout the year. Whether you’re looking to deepen your expertise, take on bigger challenges, or move toward a new role, QGAs give you a consistent way to shape that journey with your manager’s support.

These ones stay open. No deadline, no seasonal push. I review it on a real cadence, and it’s the fastest way to get on my radar before a req even goes live.
